Vernon Fire Department Worked With Haz-Mat Team on Fuel Leak

Vernon, N.J. — September 21 — The Vernon Township Fire Department, Company #1, collaborated with the Sussex County Haz-Mat team on September 21 to manage a fuel leak at the center of town.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and worked closely with the county's hazardous materials team to control the leak and handle the associated safety issues.

The crews coordinated their efforts at the incident location to minimize the spread of fuel and reduce risks to residents, drivers, and emergency workers.

Hazardous materials incidents often require extra resources and specialized tools that go beyond the typical fire response.
