Evesham Fire and multiple partner agencies make up the Burlington County Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team. This highly trained group responds to complex rescue incidents, including rope rescues, trench and building collapses, confined space emergencies, and machinery entrapments.
Team members serve as either career or volunteer firefighters or EMTs with Burlington County agencies. Over the past two weeks, several members completed an intensive 80-hour Structural Collapse Operations course at the former Evesham Department of Public Works (DPW) yard.
In the weeks ahead, Evesham Fire crews will continue training at the DPW yard, focusing on refining skills such as breaking and breaching, burning and cutting, as well as extrication and impalement rescue techniques.
