After 25 years of dedicated service, 48 Tanker has officially been retired. Over its long career, the apparatus played a vital role in many incidents, including a notable deployment with the Sussex County Strike Team to the 2015 North Brunswick warehouse fire, where it pumped water to Perth Amboy for 12 hours.

The retired tanker has been turned over to Absolute Fire Protection Co. Inc. Meanwhile, its replacement—the new 48 Tanker—is in the final stages of preparation. With tool mounts being installed and department graphics applied, the vehicle will soon be ready to begin its own 25-year service protecting Hampton Township and surrounding communities.
