Chatham, N.J. — October 27 —Firefighters from the Chatham Borough Volunteer Fire Department teamed up with the Madison Fire Department for a live-fire training exercise at the Morris County Fire Academy on Monday night.
During three hours and three drills, firefighters practiced hose advancement, fire extinguishment, and primary search operations for victims in realistic conditions. This joint session offered valuable hands-on experience for both departments. It improved coordination and reinforced best practices for firefighting operations. The department thanked Madison FD for the chance to train together and the Chatham Emergency Squad for having an ambulance on standby during the exercise. This ensured a safe and productive evening for everyone involved.
