Palmer Township, PA — Emergency services responded to the intersection of Main Street and the Route 33 interchange shortly after 5:00 a.m. for a motor vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer, which left two occupants heavily entrapped.
Multiple 911 calls reported a passenger vehicle lodged beneath the side of a tractor-trailer, with two patients classified as priority one. While en route, Deputy Chief 2751 requested a rapid response for a heavy wrecker to assist with extrication, along with additional support from the Upper Nazareth Fire Department.
Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed a single vehicle pinned beneath the tractor-trailer, with severe intrusion into the driver’s compartment. Thanks to the rapid response of the wrecker company, crews were able to lift the rear of the trailer, remove the vehicle from underneath, and extricate the two patients.
Suburban EMS and Nazareth EMS transported both patients to St Luke's Trauma Center.
