Small Fire Contained at Shop Rite in Newburgh

NEWBURGH, NY - Cronomer Valley FD was dispatched to a possible structure fire at Shop Rite on Route 32 in Newburgh on September 26th. A caller reported smoke coming from the dock area on the north side of the building. Middlehope and Goodwill Fire Departments were requested for mutual aid. Firefighters stretched a hand line and contained a small fire in an area where crates and trays from the store were left. Town of Newburgh Police were at the scene, and Cronomer Valley Command requested the Town of Newburgh Fire Inspector to the scene. All mutual aid companies were released as Command awaited the arrival of the Fire Inspector.
