Three Hospitalized Following Route 202 Crash in Antrim; DHART Medevac Stood Down

Antrim, NH - Three people were transported to the hospital Wednesday midday—one suffering significant head and chest trauma—after a sedan crossed the centerline along Route 202 and struck a pickup truck, causing it to roll over multiple times.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, emergency personnel from Antrim Fire & Ambulance and the Antrim Police Department were dispatched to Route 202 following emergency calls reporting a two-vehicle collision with potential entrapment. Units from Hillsborough Fire and Rescue and Hillsborough Police were also dispatched on mutual aid to assist.

First-arriving emergency units located a small passenger sedan and a full-size pickup truck with catastrophic impact damage obstructing the roadway. A preliminary scene investigation indicated the sedan crossed the center dividing line and collided directly with the pickup truck, causing the larger vehicle to roll over repeatedly before coming to rest.

The two occupants inside the overturned pickup truck sustained minor injuries. The driver of the sedan managed to self-extricate prior to the arrival of rescue personnel, suffering traumatic injuries to their head and chest.

Given the initial severity of the driver's injuries, dispatchers placed the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Advanced Response Team (DHART) medical helicopter on standby to touch down at the nearby Deering airport. Following on-scene paramedic triage and stabilization, flight crews were stood down, and all three patients were transported emergently by ground ambulance to Concord Hospital via Antrim and Hillsborough EMS units.

Route 202 was closed in both directions for an extended period to allow responders to treat the injured, secure fluids, and clear wreckage. The collision remains under formal investigation by the Antrim Police Department.
