SARDINIA, N.Y. — Firefighter Jacob Schweickert has spent the summer sharpening his skills, completing 69 hours of state fire training since June. His coursework included Firefighter Survival: Self Rescue, Basic Passenger Vehicle Rescue, and Firefighter II.

Schweickert’s commitment doesn’t stop there — he is already registered for an additional 86 hours of training this fall.

The Sardinia Fire Company expressed gratitude for Schweickert and all members who dedicate time to advancing their training. “We are thankful to have dedicated members who are working hard to bring these critical skills and knowledge back to Sardinia,” the department said.
