NORTHERN CAMBRIA, Pa. (Tuesday, Sept. 23) — Hope Fire Company members conducted rope rescue training Tuesday evening in a wooded setting as hunting season approaches.

The drill involved reaching a patient, packaging and stabilizing them, and removing them from the scene. Fire officials said the exercise serves as a reminder that hunters face risks each year from falls and injuries.

The department urged hunters using tree stands to wear safety harnesses, noting the equipment can prevent serious injury or death in the event of a fall.
