CHERRY VALLEY, Pa. (Sunday, Sept. 14) — West Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department assisted Sunday afternoon at a brush fire in Cherry Valley, where crews worked together to prevent flames from spreading to nearby houses and pine trees.
West Sunbury responded with a brush unit, tanker, squad and chief officers. Fire officials credited cooperation among departments for stopping the fire short of structures.
Unionville Volunteer Fire Company provided standby coverage for West Sunbury during the incident.
