SAXONBURG, Pa. (Wednesday, Sept. 3) — Multiple fire companies responded late Wednesday morning after smoke was reported coming from the roof of a building on Mushrush Road, officials said.
Saxonburg’s Car 15-2 confirmed a working fire with smoke and flames showing from the second floor shortly after clearing a previous call. A second alarm was requested, bringing additional companies to the scene.
Engine 15 arrived at 11:45 a.m. and began fire attack on the first floor, while Rescue 3 crews advanced a handline to the second floor. As more first- and second-alarm units arrived, firefighters assisted with suppression, ventilation and overhaul.
Crews operated for about four hours before clearing the scene. Officials thanked multiple departments for assistance, as well as West Deer Company 288 for providing station coverage during the incident.
