Bloomfield, N.J. — Sept. 23 — Bloomfield firefighters from Group 1 stepped outside after dinner on Tuesday night at 10:30 p.m for a round of nighttime training. The exercise was designed to help crews sharpen their skills under low-light conditions, a setting that often mirrors real emergencies.
Firefighters worked on tool handling, search techniques, and movement in limited visibility. Instructors emphasized that practicing in darkness prepares crews to operate safely and effectively during incidents that occur outside daylight hours.
The Bloomfield Fire Department continues to schedule such drills to ensure its members remain prepared for emergencies at any time of day.
