Engine 26 Clears Roadway Blocked by Tree in Dorchester

Leesburg, N.J. — September 7, 2025 — The Leesburg Volunteer Fire Department handled three calls in quick succession Sunday morning.

At 8:11 a.m., crews responded to the Dorchester section for a psychological emergency. While clearing that scene, firefighters were alerted at 8:47 a.m. to a tree blocking a roadway in the same area. Engine 26 removed the obstruction and reopened the road.

By 9:16 a.m., the department was dispatched for automatic mutual aid to Port Elizabeth for a reported motor vehicle crash. Command determined that the alarm had been triggered by crash-detection technology, and no accident was found. Crews returned to service shortly afterward.
