Tri-Village Mourns Loss of Past Assistant Chief Barry Cooke Sr.

The Tri-Village Volunteer Fire Company is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Past Assistant Chief Barry Cooke Sr., who died peacefully at home on 31st August evening.


Chief Cooke joined Tri-Village in 1962 and dedicated an extraordinary 63 years of service to the department and community. He served as First Assistant Chief for more than two decades, providing leadership, mentorship, and unwavering dedication that shaped generations of firefighters.


Beyond his firefighting service, Chief Cooke was a constant presence within the company, offering support in countless ways and embodying the true spirit of volunteerism. His loss leaves a profound void not only in the fire company but also in the hearts of those who served alongside him.


“Thank you for your service, Chief — we’ll take it from here,” the department said in a heartfelt tribute.

The Tri-Village Volunteer Fire Company asks the community to keep the Cooke family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
