September 17, 2025 — The Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Corp. (CHVFC) responded Thursday evening to a fully involved vehicle fire in a driveway on Starr Road, just 20 feet from a residence.
Fire Control advised Chief Haight (Car 6-01) of the homeowner’s report while units were en route, prompting an immediate request for mutual aid from Selkirk Fire. CHVFC crews arrived quickly, deploying multiple units including Engine 6-20, Rescue 6-10, and Rescue 6-40. Selkirk Fire’s Engine 29-21 and command staff also assisted at the scene.
Thanks to the rapid response and coordinated attack, firefighters successfully contained the blaze, preventing damage to the nearby home. No injuries were reported.
The Coeymans Police Department and Albany County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene. Officials commended the teamwork between agencies that ensured the incident was resolved safely.
CHVFC continues to encourage community members to consider volunteering, noting that strong membership helps maintain rapid, effective responses to emergencies both within the district and in support of neighboring departments.
