PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, Pa. (Wednesday, Sept. 3) — Fire crews from multiple companies worked for hours to extinguish a large rubbish fire at 611 Metals, officials said.

The blaze drew a wide mutual aid response, with departments providing tankers, engines and manpower to shuttle water and control the flames. Midway Volunteer Fire Company sent Engine 15-1 to a tanker fill site and Tanker 5 for shuttle operations.

Midway firefighters said crews remained on scene for more than five hours assisting in the effort.
