Heavy Fire on Side A: Jefferson Hills Crews Stretch Handlines at Working Dwelling Fire

Jefferson Hills, PA - Firefighters launched a rapid, aggressive interior attack Monday evening, stopping a working house fire on Arnoni Drive and knocking down the bulk of the flames within five minutes of arrival.

On the evening of September 7, dispatchers alerted Jefferson Hills Fire-Rescue alongside mutual aid companies following multiple 911 calls reporting a residential structure fire in the 100 block of Arnoni Drive. Arriving first on the scene, Deputy 1 observed active fire blowing from Side A (front) of a two-story, single-family wood-frame home, with dense smoke pushing from all divisions and sides confirmed during the initial 360-degree size-up.

Engine 1 took the first-due engine assignment, establishing its own continuous water supply from a nearby municipal connection and advancing an 1¾-inch attack line through the front entry for an aggressive push on the seat of the fire. Engine 2 arrived shortly after as the second-due engine, stretching a backup hose line through the attached garage to protect egress routes and cut off extension paths.

Simultaneously, crews aboard 301 Engine took on truck company duties, conducting primary searches across all divisions and levels of the smoke-filled dwelling, which confirmed negative findings with no trapped occupants inside.

Firefighters remained on the scene for approximately four hours conducting extensive overhaul, checking structural voids with thermal imaging, and clearing accumulated smoke before packing up equipment and returning to service.
