Easton Engine 13 Provided Mutual Aid to Mansfield

Easton, MA — September 22 — Easton Firefighters Local 2790 IAFF provided assistance to the Town of Mansfield by dispatching Engine 13 to cover a station.

The Easton crew was tasked with staying on standby in Mansfield while local personnel were deployed to other areas.

This setup ensured that Mansfield had a fire engine and crew ready to respond to emergencies during the coverage period.

At the same time, Easton's off-duty firefighters were called back to their own stations to maintain emergency response capabilities within their own community.

This allowed Easton to help a neighboring town while still being able to protect its own people.

Both Easton and Mansfield were served by the Southeastern Massachusetts Regional Emergency Communications Center (SEMRECC), which managed communication for fire, police, and EMS services and supported mutual aid efforts between towns.

Massachusetts also had a statewide public safety mutual aid system that enabled communities to request and share emergency resources with each other.

Easton had previously used mutual aid and station coverage during incidents when its own crews were responding to emergencies. In past situations, neighboring departments provided station coverage while Easton firefighters were on scene.

The September 22 assignment showed how coordinated staffing and mutual aid efforts helped ensure continuous emergency coverage across nearby communities.
