Fire damages exterior of home in Doylestown Township

DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (Monday, Sept. 15) — Fire crews extinguished an exterior fire Monday afternoon at a home on the 1900 block of Lower State Road in the Castle Valley section of Doylestown Township, officials said.
Doylestown Fire Company was dispatched just after 12:30 p.m. Engine 19 and Rescue 78 arrived within minutes, quickly knocking down the flames. Crews performed overhaul and ventilation while Battalion Chief 275 rescued a cat from the property.
The fire was contained to the exterior of the home. Mutual aid partners from several nearby companies and Warrington EMS assisted at the scene.
