SPRING TOWNSHIP, Pa. (Wednesday, Sept. 11) — Township of Spring Fire Rescue Services personnel and apparatus attended Patriot Day ceremonies Wednesday morning at Shiloh Hills and Spring Ridge Elementary Schools.
At Shiloh Hills, Chief 85 and Engine 85 with two firefighters joined students and staff at the flagpole for the raising and lowering of the American flag to half-staff, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the national anthem. First graders led the school in singing “America the Beautiful,” followed by inspirational readings from three students and remarks from Principal Kelly Byrne.
At the same time, Rescue Engine 85 and a crew of four took part in a ceremony at Spring Ridge Elementary School.
