Unity Firefighters Quickly Extinguish Center Road Grill Fire

At approximately 5:40 p.m., firefighters arrived at a home on Center Road in Unity, Maine, in response to a reported grill fire. on September 12, 2026. Before firefighters arrived, the homeowner moved the grill away from the house, helping to keep the fire away from the structure.
When they arrived, Unity Fire Department crews swiftly put out the fire with an APW water extinguisher. There were no reports of serious injuries or property damage.
Unity firefighters responded, and the department’s report did not mention any assisting or mutual-aid units. The Unity Fire Department is a volunteer organization that serves the community, and town records indicate it responds to a variety of fire, medical, and rescue emergencies.
