Orange Firefighters Handled Early-Morning Vehicle Fire

Orange, MA — September 12 — The Orange Fire Rescue EMS Department responded at about 6:06 a.m.on Saturday to the 400 block of East River Street for a reported motor vehicle fire.Engine 2 and Engine 3 arrived to find the vehicle completely engulfed in flames.

Firefighters extended handlines and worked to put out the burning vehicle. The fire created heavy smoke and intense flames, but the crews managed to bring the situation under control. No injuries were reported.

The Orange Police Department helped firefighters at the scene, and Dales Towing was called in to remove the vehicle after the fire was fully extinguished. The response took place along East River Street, which is also where the Orange Police Department is located.

The incident was reported by local media as a fully involved vehicle fire on East River Street early on Saturday morning.

The Orange Fire Rescue EMS Department uses a variety of fire, rescue, and EMS vehicles. According to the town's annual report, Engine 2 is a 2019 Pierce Enforcer rescue pumper with a 750-gallon tank and a 1,500-gallon-per-minute pump. Engine 3 is a Pierce Lance pumper with a 750-gallon tank.
