BOYERTOWN, Pa. (Monday, Sept. 15) — Boyertown Area Fire & Rescue used its regular training night to practice air bag operations in a simulated crash scenario.
Firefighters placed a rescue mannequin beneath a vehicle to replicate a motorcycle collision with an entrapped patient. Crews worked through the slow, deliberate process of lifting the car using air bags.
The department thanked Hawk’s Towing and Recovery for providing the yard and vehicles for the exercise.
Officials said the department welcomes new volunteers, with applications available Monday nights at either station.
