Fire damages shed, spreads to brush in Ruscombmanor

RUSCOMBMANOR TOWNSHIP, Pa. (Friday, Sept. 19) — Firefighters contained a rubbish fire Friday afternoon that spread to a shed and nearby brush while threatening a larger shop, officials said.
Blandon units were dispatched to assist Ruscombmanor Fire Company after the fire was reported. Deputy 12 arrived to find flames involving a small shed and rubbish pile extending into the woods.
Engine 12 crews quickly stretched a hand line to stop the fire from reaching the shop. Engine 66 and Brush 12 added additional lines to control the brush fire. Crews then scaled back the response and completed overhaul.
Muhlenberg Township Fire & Rescue and Fleetwood Fire Company also assisted.
