SAXTON, Pa. (Saturday, Sept. 13) — Saxton Volunteer Fire Company responded to a brush fire Saturday after Bedford County 911 dispatched units to Box 36-02.
Engine 35 arrived under the direction of Chief 36 and accessed the fire from Schoolhouse Hill Road, deploying a hand line to contain the flames. Tanker 35 followed to provide manpower and water supply.
The fire was quickly brought under control, and crews began overhaul to ensure full extinguishment. Blair County’s Engine 80 transferred to Station 35 for coverage during the incident.
