Sept 3 — Glassboro, N.J. — The Glassboro Fire Department responded to a working residential fire in Mantua Township, District 22, just before 9 p.m. on September 3rd.
Squad 26, Chief 26, and Battalion Chief 26, 2602 were sent to help. Arriving as the second due engine, Squad 26 was tasked with finishing a split lay from the hydrant to the spot where Rescue Engine 22 had already deployed. Since the water lay was over 2,000 feet long, careful coordination was necessary to guarantee a steady supply. Following the establishment of operations, the crew helped with fireground duties and stayed on the scene for roughly three hours before being let go.
Tower 26 and Engine 26 remained manned in Glassboro while units were in Mantua. In order to maintain local coverage, those crews responded to numerous service requests throughout the borough.
