Montclair, N.J — Sept. 11: On the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the Montclair Firefighters Foundation took a moment to remember the lives lost and the first responders who showed fortitude on one of the nation's worst days.

Among those honored are the 343 firefighters from the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) who died in the line of duty. In the weeks and months following the attacks, firemen from across New Jersey and beyond flocked to Ground Zero to assist with recovery and relief efforts. Members of the Montclair Fire Department were among them, assisting with search operations and standing alongside thousands of responders who worked diligently on the scene.
