BRIDGEWATER, Pa. (Monday, Sept. 1) — Volunteers with the Bridgewater Fire Department spent Labor Day juggling training, community activities and emergency calls.
Fourteen members were on station throughout the day. The morning began with preparations for an upcoming mini golf event, followed by training exercises in a midrise building.
Around midday, Engine and Squad 28 were dispatched to a reported apartment fire in Monaca, arriving just four minutes after the call. Later, the company joined neighbors from Rochester Fire Department for an impromptu picnic and a friendly game of whiffle ball.
The day concluded with a response to a motor vehicle accident at Veterans Bridge and Constitution Boulevard in Bridgewater.
