Deepwater Volunteer Fire Department responded to a working fire in the Penn Beach area involving a detached garage that was fully engulfed, with flames extending toward the residence. Ladder 5 and Engine 7 crews deployed multiple lines to knock down the bulk of the fire, while mutual aid from Salem, Carneys Point, and Penns Grove assisted with overhaul operations.
One resident sustained a minor burn injury and was transported for treatment. No injuries were reported among responding personnel.
Reliance Fire Company and Elsinboro Fire Company covered an additional alarm in the Beaver Dam area during the incident. Authorities commended the coordinated efforts of all companies involved.
