SWISSVALE, Pa. (Tuesday, Sept. 9) — Firefighters in Swissvale responded Tuesday night to a vehicle crash that left a car about 30 feet down a hillside, officials said.

Engine 278-E1 arrived to find the vehicle and established a rope and ladder system to reach it. Crews were unsure at first whether anyone was trapped inside.

Rescue 137 from Edgewood was requested to assist, and firefighters worked for about an hour and a half before returning to service. Monroeville Volunteer Fire Department 5 provided station coverage during the call.
