PENN HILLS, Pa. (Sunday, Sept. 7) — Penn Hills No. 7 Volunteer Fire Company handled two crashes Sunday afternoon, including one at the local post office and another involving a utility pole on Lime Hollow Road.
The first incident involved a vehicle that struck the Penn Hills Post Office. Crews found the driver already out of the vehicle and uninjured. The car was removed from the building, which sustained only cosmetic damage. Units cleared the scene in about 30 minutes.
Less than an hour later, firefighters responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 1500 block of Lime Hollow Road, where a car struck a utility pole. The driver was out of the vehicle and denied injury. The utility company was notified for repairs, and police later took the operator into custody on suspicion of DUI. The roadway was closed for about 40 minutes.
