PENN HILLS, Pa. (Monday, Sept. 15) — Firefighters responded Monday afternoon after a dump truck left the roadway and landed in a drainage ditch on the 6300 block of Leechburg Road, officials said.

The call came in shortly before 3:30 p.m. Crews from Stations 223, 222 and 227 were dispatched. The truck’s operator was already out of the vehicle when units arrived.

Penn Hills No. 7 Volunteer Fire Company assisted with traffic control and patient care until EMS arrived. The operator was later taken to a trauma hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
