Penn Hills firefighters handle six calls in single day

PENN HILLS, Pa. (Tuesday, Sept. 16) — Penn Hills No. 7 Volunteer Fire Company answered six calls Tuesday, ranging from traffic accidents to gas and carbon monoxide alarms.
Crews first responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on the 400 block of Springdale Drive, where no illness was reported. Later, firefighters assisted at a two-vehicle crash with injuries on Lime Hollow Road, followed by a vehicle-versus-pedestrian incident on Universal Road.
In Pittsburgh, members assisted with a Red Cross disaster trailer detail on Liberty Avenue. Firefighters also answered a call for a vehicle that struck a deer on Interstate 376 westbound near mile marker 81.7, with injuries unknown. The day concluded with a natural gas leak inside a home on Veronica Drive.
