Commack Firefighters Cut Trapped Motorist from Overturned Vehicle in Saturday Crash

Commack, NY - Firefighters with the Commack Fire Department deployed heavy rescue tools Saturday evening to extricate a driver trapped inside an overturned vehicle in western Suffolk County.
On September 5, department volunteers were dispatched following emergency reports of a motor vehicle collision involving an overturned car and confirmed occupant entrapment.
First-arriving crews located the inverted wreckage with one person pinned inside. Responders stabilized the vehicle before initiating extrication procedures, using specialized rescue tools to force open the damaged structure, relieve entrapment points, and safely remove the occupant from the cabin.
The freed individual was transferred to awaiting EMS personnel for on-scene medical evaluation and transport.
