Multi-alarm fire in Trenton left one dead, 3 injured

Trenton, NJ — September 18 —Twenty-two people were displaced and seven rowhomes were destroyed in Trenton on September 18 when a three-alarm fire ripped through the 1200 block of North Olden Avenue. Just before 11 p.m., firefighters arrived to discover flames rapidly spreading along the block close to Ellis Avenue.

An 18-year-old male victim passed away on the spot. Three others, two in stable condition and one in serious condition, were taken to the hospital. Trenton and neighboring fire departments' teams attempted to put out the fire.

To help the evacuated residents, the American Red Cross was called in. Crews put the fire under control at about 12:30 a.m. For several hours following, the area was still filled with thick smoke.
