Fire damages attic of home in New Oxford

NEW OXFORD, Pa. (Sept. 7) — Firefighters battled a residential blaze Sunday morning after smoke was reported coming from the eaves of a home, officials said.

Crews arriving around 6:30 a.m. found an active attic fire. United Hook & Ladder’s Engine 333 responded with four personnel and assisted with opening up inside to locate hidden fire and hot spots.

Firefighters operated for about two hours before returning to service. Truck 33 covered Company 1 during the response.
