Westfield firefighters rescue kitten from storm drain

WESTFIELD, N.J. (Sept. 18, 2025) — Firefighters freed a kitten trapped in a storm drain Friday afternoon on the 700 block of Prospect Street, officials said.
Ladder 1 was dispatched at 2:05 p.m., and crews worked for about an hour to safely remove the animal without injury.
The kitten was turned over to animal control for a health check and possible adoption, according to the department.
