September 19, 2025 — Westampton Township Emergency Services proudly highlighted Firefighter/EMT Gavin Hager in their latest Member Spotlight, honoring his dedication, training, and passion for the fire service.
Born in Boca Raton, Florida, and raised in Jackson, New Jersey, Hager is a third-generation firefighter whose father and grandfather both volunteered in Colts Neck, NJ. He joined the Cassville Volunteer Fire Company in 2022, completed Firefighter I and II training at the Ocean County Training Center in 2023, and earned his NJ EMT-B certification in 2024.
Hager joined WTES as a per-diem firefighter in February 2025 and became a full-time member a month later after graduating from the Westampton Career Recruit Fire Academy. During the academy’s rigorous nine-week training, he earned NJ DFS Firefighter II certification along with advanced credentials in vehicle extrication and Engine/Truck Company operations.
In addition to his fire training, Hager holds certifications as a Swiftwater Technician, Rope Rescue Operations, and Vehicle Extrication Operations, and is currently enrolled in a Hazmat Technician program. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Human Resource Management from Rutgers University.
When he’s not serving the community, Hager enjoys backpacking, kayaking, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.
Westampton Township Emergency Services commended Hager for his commitment to learning and improving his skills, helping keep the community safe.
