MANTUA TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sept. 3, 2025) — Firefighters battled heavy flames in a garage fire on Laurel Drive Wednesday night, officials said.

Taskforce 22 was dispatched to the 100 block of Laurel Drive, where Chief 22 reported fire conditions throughout the structure and requested a working fire box. Rescue 22 deployed multiple hand lines, while crews mounted a coordinated interior and exterior attack.

Ladder 28’s aerial was placed in service as more than 2,000 feet of supply line was laid to establish a water source.

All residents evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported. The Mantua Township Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
