Electric Bike Fire Quickly Contained in Ridgefield Commercial Building

At 4:25 PM, the Ridgefield Fire Department responded to the 1000 block of Slocum Avenue for a reported activated fire alarm. On arrival, crews discovered smoke coming from a large commercial building. The source was traced to an electric bike that had caught fire inside but was extinguished before firefighters arrived.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and damage was limited to the bike. Firefighters ventilated the building, and all units returned to service within the hour.
