On September 15th, Pennsauken Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle crash with entrapment at the intersection of Haddonfield Road and Collins Avenue. Engine Company 113, Tower Ladder 11, and the department’s Basic Life Support unit were dispatched to the scene.
When firefighters arrived, they found at least one occupant trapped inside a vehicle. Crews stabilized the scene and worked to free the individual while BLS personnel provided immediate medical care. Specialized rescue equipment, including the department’s Holmatro Pentheon tools, was used during the extrication process to safely remove the occupant from the damaged vehicle.
The incident highlighted the importance of coordination among fire suppression, aerial operations, and medical teams. Firefighters managed hazards such as leaking fluids and vehicle stability, while ensuring that medical personnel had safe access to patients once they were removed from the wreckage.
At this time, the cause of the collision has not been confirmed. Authorities have not released information regarding the number of injuries or patient conditions. Local police assisted with traffic control in the area while operations were underway.
The Pennsauken Fire Department continues to review the response and has not yet provided additional details on the incident.
