Two Hospitalized After Route 6 Crash in Coventry

Coventry, Conn. — September 13, 2026 — On Sunday afternoon, emergency responders arrived at a severe car accident on the westbound side of Route 6 near the Columbia town line, following a vehicle veering off the road and hitting a rocky section.
At about 2:05 p.m., the Coventry Fire-EMS Department and the Columbia Volunteer Fire Department were sent to the scene. together with Windham Hospital paramedics. Firefighters discovered a single vehicle that had veered off the road and come to rest against some rocks, with one person trapped inside.
Firefighters from Coventry and Columbia collaborated to free the trapped person from the vehicle. According to fire officials and local reports, two patients were taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment.
