Northwood Fire-Rescue Responded to Route 4 Crash

Northwood, NH — September 8 — A motor vehicle accident on Route 4 prompted the Northwood Fire Department to respond to the scene in the early morning. Upon arrival, the fire crew worked to manage the incident and check on the individuals involved.
No serious injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
Fire and rescue personnel conducted assessments of the people present and remained at the scene while traffic was redirected around the accident location.
The Northwood Fire and Rescue Department serves approximately 4,000 residents within an area of 27 square miles.
The department operates from two fire stations located at 85 Main Street and 499 First NH Turnpike, with 35 members working under the guidance of the department’s command staff.
Route 4 is a key transportation route through Northwood.
According to town planning documents, U.S.Route 4 and NH 202 have been identified as major areas of concern for vehicle collisions, with approximately 7.7 miles of Route 4 passing through the town.
Mutual aid support was provided by the Pittsfield Fire Department.
Pittsfield functions as a combined fire and emergency medical services department and is a member of the Capital Area Mutual Aid Fire Compact, offering assistance to neighboring departments when needed.
