East Kingston Firefighters Responded to Sandown Structure Fire

East Kingston, NH — September 16 — Members of the East Kingston Fire Department joined several nearby fire departments to offer mutual aid during a structure fire in Sandown on September 16. The incident required a multi-community effort as firefighters worked to control the fire and protect the building. East Kingston was one of the departments helping Sandown Fire-Rescue during the operation. Auburn Rescue 1 also responded and provided assistance with fire suppression and overhaul efforts.

The mutual-aid response involved departments from multiple surrounding communities, bringing in additional firefighters and equipment to support the operation.

This regional cooperation allowed Sandown crews to keep their resources on site while neighboring departments helped with suppression and overhaul tasks.

During the response, one firefighter suffered a minor injury and was reported to be recovering.

WMUR reported that firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the roof, which required a coordinated effort to manage.

Mutual aid continues to be a vital part of fire protection in southern New Hampshire, where departments routinely assist each other during structure fires and other incidents that require extra personnel or specialized equipment.

Sandown’s annual report also noted the town’s involvement in regional emergency response programs.
