Lisbon Crews Responded to Serious Motorcycle Crash on Paper Mill Road

Lisbon, CT — September 11 — Lisbon Fire Department members, Connecticut State Police, American Ambulance and LIFE STAR responded to Paper Mill Road around 1 a.m.for a reported motorcycle crash involving serious injuries.
Lisbon Fire Department units Car 54, Ambulance 654 and Engine 154 arrived at the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found that the motorcycle operator had collided with several objects, including a tree.Fire and emergency medical services personnel immediately started providing care to the patient.
Engine 154 set up a landing zone for LIFE STAR at the Lisbon Senior Center, while Ambulance 654 continued treating the patient.
LIFE STAR arrived approximately 10 minutes after being called for.
The patient was transported by Ambulance 654 to the landing zone, where the LIFE STAR medical team continued providing advanced care.
Once the patient was stabilized inside the ambulance, LIFE STAR transported the individual to Hartford Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
LIFE STAR is a critical-care air medical service operated by Hartford HealthCare.
The service provides air transport for patients needing care at tertiary medical centers, and Hartford Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center.
The Lisbon Fire Department is based at 45 Newent Road and offers emergency response services to the local community.
