Man Dies in Fatal Structure Fire on Sarvis Lane in Newburgh

NEWBURGH, NY - Cronomer Valley FD responded to a reported structure fire at 9 Sarvis Lane around 11:45 P.M. on September 13th.
On arrival, half of the home was already in flames, and Command advised there was possible entrapment with one subject still inside. A second-alarm was sounded and additional departments responded, including Coldenham, Orange Lake, Good Will, Air National Guard, Plattekill, and Winona Lake.
A male victim was eventually located in a rear bedroom and immediately taken from the residence and transported by Town of Newburgh EMS to Montefiore-St. Luke's Hospital where he later died.
Town of Newburgh Police were at the scene, along with Central Hudson for a power cut, and the Town of Newburgh Fire Inspector. New Windsor FD stood by in Cronomer Valley's firehouse. The fire is currently under investigation.
