Around 8:45 am on Friday, 9/12/25 the Niantic and Flanders Fire Departments were dispatched to smoke from the attic of 20 Sunnieside Drive. Companies arrived to heavy smoke from the attic and transmitted the working fire which added Waterford Engine 11 with Old Saybrook FAST. Niantic Engine 11 stretched a line through the front door and suppressed the fire in the attic. Truck 25 set up in the front while Waterford threw ladders and went to the roof for vertical ventilation. The East Lyme Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
