Stratford, CT — October 30: Using its newly installed rescue struts, the Stratford, Connecticut Fire Department launched a targeted training program this week to improve extrication and stabilization techniques. Every shift is planned to participate in various scenario-based exercises that mimic traffic accidents and entrapments on local roads.
The department credits a dedicated team of firefighter-instructors for developing the training curriculum and overseeing skill development on apparatus TAC 5. Their goal is to ensure all crew members are proficient with the new tools and ready for response. Technology manufacturers note that modern stabilization struts are essential to secure vehicles and create safe working environments in extrication operations.
