Motorcyclist injured in crash

Shirley N.Y. - On September 12th at about 12:15 PM the Suffolk County Emergency Dispatch Center received a call for a vehicle crash involving a motorcycle. The location of the call was the William fFloyd Parkway Southbound at Moriches Middle Island RD. The Suffolk police 7th pct and Ridge Fire Department were dispatched to the scene and aviation was also asked to monitor in case they needed to launch. Ridge FD units under the command of Chief of Department Lou Kaiser Responded .

Upon the arrival of rescue personnel the rider was found to be conscious and alert so the medevac was advised by police they could stand down. Rescue 5-22-4 and Engine 5-22-6 cleaned up debris and fluids and made sure any vehicles involved were secured.while the firefighters were tending to the clean up medical personnel that responded in 5-22-16 & 5-22-81 tended to the patient to prepare for transport. The rider was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The Ridge FD’s Fire Police and Suffolk Pd 7th pct officers closed some lanes both ways on William Floyd Parkway and conducted traffic control. All units were back in service in about 40 mins except the ambulance that transported.
