Hinsdale, NY - Emergency personnel from multiple agencies mobilized late Friday night to secure the scene and evaluate hazards following a two-vehicle collision that left one car overturned on its roof.

At approximately 10:49 p.m. (2249 hours) on September 3, the Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department and the Lyncourt Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched on mutual aid to assist the Mattydale Fire District for a reported motor vehicle collision in the 200 block of Beley Avenue.

Hinsdale Rescue 5 arrived on location under the command of Chief Jones to conduct scene size-up and hazard isolation. Initial 911 callers reported that a vehicle had struck another car, causing it to flip over and come to rest on its roof in the roadway.

The occupant of the overturned vehicle managed to self-extricate prior to the arrival of first responders. Emergency medical technicians from the North Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps (NAVAC) provided pre-hospital assessment and transported the patient for further evaluation.

Firefighters secured vehicle batteries, controlled fluid runoff, and stabilized the immediate area until law enforcement and recovery services took over the roadway.
